UN Criticizes Israel’s Use of “War Fighting” Tactics in West Bank Raid

The United Nations has raised serious concerns regarding the Israeli military’s recent operations in the West Bank, specifically criticizing the use of tactics it described as “developed for war fighting.”

Speaking at a media briefing in Geneva on Friday, UN human rights office spokesman Thameen Al-Kheetan expressed alarm over what he called the “unlawful lethal force” used in Jenin.

“We are deeply concerned by the use of unlawful lethal force in Jenin, in the occupied West Bank,” Al-Kheetan said. “The deadly Israeli operations in recent days raise serious concerns about unnecessary or disproportionate use of force, including methods and means developed for war fighting, in violation of international human rights law, norms, and standards applicable to law enforcement operations.”

The criticism follows a military raid in the West Bank that has drawn international attention and intensified scrutiny over Israel’s handling of security operations in occupied territories.
