Russian air defences successfully intercepted four drones that were flying towards Moscow, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported on Friday. Initial reports indicate that no one was injured in the incident.
Emergency services are currently on the ground where debris from the drones has fallen, Sobyanin mentioned on his official Telegram channel. Although he did not explicitly name Ukraine, it is widely believed that the attacks were part of the ongoing drone campaign by Kyiv, which has targeted Russian infrastructure since the beginning of the war.
Andrei Vorobyov, the governor of the Moscow region, stated that three of the drones were shot down over his jurisdiction. The debris landed on a construction site and an unoccupied residential building, with no reported injuries. One drone crashed onto the roof of a multi-storey residential building in western Moscow, according to the RIA news agency. Additionally, TASS news agency reported debris from another drone landing on a private house on the outskirts of the city.
