Israel Launches Second Airstrike on Yemen’s Sanaa Airport in a Month

The Israeli military confirmed on Wednesday that it conducted another airstrike on Sanaa International Airport in Yemen, marking the second such attack in less than a month. The operation targeted Houthi forces, whom Israel accuses of launching multiple missile attacks in recent days.

While the Houthi-fired projectiles caused no casualties or damage inside Israel, the latest strike underscores Israel’s intent to deter further aggression from the Iran-backed rebel group operating out of Yemen.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or infrastructure damage in Sanaa following the latest attack.

Israel had previously struck the same airport on May 6, rendering the terminal unusable and leaving the runway heavily cratered. Despite that, limited flights had resumed operations by May 17.

The renewed military action signals a potential escalation in regional tensions as Israel expands its focus beyond Gaza and Lebanon to include threats originating from Yemen.
