Missile and Drone Attacks Hit Dubai, Doha, and Manama Amid Rising Gulf Tensions

Fresh explosions echoed across the Gulf region early Sunday morning, with blasts reported in Dubai, Doha, and Manama following a wave of Iran strikes launched in retaliation for recent US and Israeli attacks.
According to AFP reporters on the ground, loud detonations were heard in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Doha in Qatar, and Manama in Bahrain. Authorities in Bahrain activated emergency sirens as tensions surged across the region.
The latest blasts came after a deadly day of Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting key infrastructure across the Gulf. The Emirati capital Abu Dhabi was among the hardest hit, with military bases, airports, and strategic sites struck in coordinated assaults. Oman, acting as a regional mediator, was the only Gulf nation reportedly spared.
The UAE’s Defense Ministry confirmed that 137 missiles and 209 drones were launched toward its territory. Fires and thick smoke were seen rising near iconic landmarks, including The Palm and the Burj Al Arab, underscoring the scale of the assault.
At Dubai International Airport and Abu Dhabi Airport, officials reported unspecified “incidents,” while at least one fatality was confirmed in Abu Dhabi. Kuwait’s airport was also hit during the broader offensive.
The escalating Gulf tensions mark one of the most significant regional flare-ups in recent years, raising concerns about further instability in the Middle East.
