Iran Missile Attacks and US-Israel Strikes Intensify Across Middle East

The US-Israel Iran war entered its fifth day Wednesday as missile strikes and drone attacks intensified across the region, with air raid sirens sounding throughout Israel and explosions reported in multiple Iranian cities.

Sirens Across Israel

Air raid alerts were issued across Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and other major cities after missiles were launched from Iran. Israel’s military said its defence systems were working to intercept the threat, triggering loud blasts across the country.

Emergency service Magen David Adom reported no immediate casualties, though Israeli media said shrapnel from interceptions fell near Beit Shemesh, the site of a deadly strike earlier this week that killed nine people.

Witnesses in Ramallah also reported hearing powerful explosions, believed to be from missile interceptions. Analysts say the wide barrage has complicated Israel’s air defence operations.

Explosions in Tehran and Beyond

Meanwhile, explosions rocked Tehran as Israeli forces carried out fresh attacks targeting sites linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Basij volunteer force. Israeli officials said buildings associated with Iran’s internal security command were also struck.

Iranian state media reported blasts in several cities, including Karaj and Isfahan. The Iranian Red Crescent Society said at least 787 people have been killed across Iran since the start of the joint US-Israeli campaign.

The IRGC announced that its ground forces had entered battlefield operations and that 230 drones were deployed. Iranian officials also referenced a naval operation aimed at US military ships in the region.

Conflict Spreads Across Gulf

Iran has continued retaliatory missile and drone attacks not only against Israel but also across Gulf nations, raising fears the war could expand further. US President Donald Trump said the conflict could last up to a month.

No Sign of Ceasefire

Diplomatic efforts appear stalled. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi sharply criticized Trump, accusing him of betraying diplomacy and undermining nuclear negotiations.

“When complex nuclear negotiations are treated like a real estate transaction… unrealistic expectations can never be met,” Araghchi wrote on social media. “The outcome? Bombing the negotiation table out of spite.”

With Iran missile attacks and US-Israel strikes continuing daily, there are few signs of de-escalation, and regional tensions remain at a boiling point.
