Missile attacks hit central Israel and Hebron, Hezbollah fires at Gaza border
Iranian missile attacks have killed at least four civilians in Israel and the West Bank, marking a sharp escalation in the Middle East war. A foreign worker died in central Israel after a missile carrying a cluster bomb struck Moshav Adanim, while three Palestinian women were killed in Beit Awwa in the southern West Bank, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.
Sirens sounded six times overnight in Israel, particularly in northern and central regions. Several residential buildings and communities, including Neta and Tel Aviv, were damaged by cluster munitions, though some areas reported no injuries. Earlier attacks also lightly injured a man and two children in Petah Tivka.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said about half of Iran’s missiles in the current conflict have carried cluster warheads. Iran acknowledged using cluster munitions, claiming the strikes were retaliation for Israel’s killing of Iranian security chief Ali Larijani.
Meanwhile, Iran-backed Hezbollah fired rockets at the Gaza border, marking the first such attacks since renewing operations against Israel earlier this month. The projectiles hit open areas in Gaza, northern Israel, and the Galilee, with no casualties reported. Israel has responded with airstrikes against Hezbollah positions in Lebanon.
The attacks are part of a broader Iranian campaign targeting Israel, Gulf states, and commercial shipping, following the US-Israel bombing campaign on Iran since February 28 aimed at destabilizing its leadership and destroying nuclear and missile programs.
The escalation highlights the growing civilian toll in the region, with Iran’s use of cluster bombs causing widespread destruction and fear in Israel and the West Bank, and raising concerns over the conflict’s impact on regional stability and security.
