Ishaq Dar meets Chinese officials amid Islamabad-led diplomatic push
ISLAMABAD; Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is set to travel to China tomorrow for high-level talks with his Chinese counterpart, officials confirmed.
The visit comes at a critical moment in regional diplomacy. Over the past week, Dar has been at the center of a quadrilateral effort involving Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and Egypt to bring the US and Iran to the negotiation table in Islamabad.
China has publicly expressed support for the initiative. After concluding talks yesterday, Dar reaffirmed that China fully backs Pakistan’s efforts to host direct US-Iran dialogue, signaling strengthened cooperation on regional peace initiatives.
The meetings in Beijing are expected to solidify China’s backing and advance Pakistan’s role as a mediator in ongoing diplomatic efforts to ease tensions between Washington and Tehran.
