Central Gaza – June 11, 2025 — At least 31 Palestinians were shot and killed by Israeli forces while attempting to collect food aid near the Netzarim Corridor, just south of Gaza City, according to Gaza’s Civil Defence. The site, part of a makeshift distribution zone, had drawn large numbers of desperate civilians amid worsening humanitarian conditions in the besieged enclave.
Elsewhere in Gaza, Israeli air strikes continued to exact a deadly toll. In the southern city of Khan Younis, at least five people were killed, including four in the al-Mawasi coastal area and one in Qizan Rashwan, a source at Nasser Hospital told Al Jazeera Arabic.
The conflict, now in its eighth month, has devastated the Gaza Strip. According to the latest figures from Gaza’s Health Ministry, Israeli military operations have killed at least 54,981 Palestinians and injured 126,920 since October 7, 2023. That day marked the beginning of the war, triggered by a Hamas-led attack on Israel that left 1,139 people dead and over 200 taken captive.
International condemnation of the ongoing civilian death toll has intensified, with humanitarian organizations warning of famine, infrastructure collapse, and systematic targeting of aid routes.
