Gaza’s Children Keep Learning Amid War: Hope and Education in the Rubble

In war-torn Gaza, schools destroyed by conflict haven’t stopped children and teachers from finding new ways to learn and rebuild their dreams.

Even as bombs fall and classrooms crumble, Gaza’s children refuse to surrender their right to learn. Across the strip, families, teachers, and volunteers are turning shattered spaces into makeshift schools — proving that even in war, education is a form of resistance.

Many school buildings lie in ruins, yet lessons continue in tents, mosques, and online where internet access allows. Teachers record video lessons, parents help organize small group studies, and international NGOs supply learning kits to keep education alive.

For thousands of children, learning is not just about textbooks — it’s about holding on to normal life. Despite trauma, loss, and displacement, these young learners show remarkable resilience, driven by hope for a future beyond the destruction.

“Education gives our children purpose,” says a volunteer teacher in Khan Younis. “It’s the only thing that helps them imagine peace while living through war.”

Amid the chaos, Gaza’s education heroes — parents, teachers, and children themselves — are writing a story of survival and strength that the world should not ignore.
