Hezbollah has issued a stark warning to Israel, threatening further attacks if the Israeli military continues its offensive in Lebanon. This follows a drone strike on a military base near Haifa on Sunday, which resulted in the deaths of four Israeli soldiers—marking the deadliest assault on an Israeli installation since September 23, when Israel ramped up its operations against Hezbollah.
In a statement, Hezbollah declared, “What we witnessed today in southern Haifa is just a taste of what awaits if the enemy persists in its aggression against our people.” The Iran-backed militant group claimed to have executed a “complex” operation, launching numerous missiles toward Nahariya and Acre, north of Haifa, to occupy Israeli defense systems.
Hezbollah reported that it deployed “squadrons of various drones,” some of which were used for the first time, managing to bypass Israeli air defenses and successfully strike the training camp in Binyamina, where numerous Israeli officers and soldiers were present.
In addition to the drone strike, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for targeting a “maintenance and rehabilitation base” of the Israeli military, also located south of Haifa. This escalation follows a recent incident where air raid sirens sounded in central Israel due to two aerial drones entering from Lebanon, resulting in damage to a building north of Tel Aviv.
While Hezbollah has been regularly launching rockets and drones into Israel for over a year, its operations have intensified since the conflict escalated in late September. Israeli air defenses, including the Iron Dome, have intercepted most incoming projectiles, leading to few reported casualties.
The ongoing conflict in Lebanon has resulted in over 1,300 deaths and displaced more than a million people from their homes, according to official figures.
