GAZA STRIP — The Israeli military has issued a stark new warning to Palestinians in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis, ordering them to evacuate immediately ahead of what it called an “unprecedented attack” targeting Hamas infrastructure in the area.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), the IDF’s Arabic spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, told residents of Khan Younis, Bani Suheila, and Abasan to flee westward to the Mawasi area for their safety.
“The IDF will launch an unprecedented attack to destroy the capabilities of terrorist organizations in this area,” Adraee wrote. “From this moment, Khan Younis governorate will be considered a dangerous combat zone. Terrorist organizations have brought you disaster. For your safety, evacuate immediately.”
This latest warning follows a broader escalation in Israel’s military operations across Gaza. Just a day earlier, the IDF issued evacuation orders for parts of central Gaza as part of an intensified offensive accompanied by a sustained bombing campaign that has already resulted in significant civilian casualties and destruction.
The situation continues to deteriorate rapidly, with humanitarian groups expressing growing concern over the safety of civilians caught in the conflict and the repeated displacement of thousands.
