IDF Strikes Terror Targets in Lebanon and Gaza Amid Ceasefires

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted airstrikes late Friday night in southern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah military sites, while also launching strikes in Gaza against individuals suspected of hostile activities. These actions were carried out despite ongoing ceasefires.

In Lebanon, the IDF targeted a Hezbollah operative and several sites used to store weapons and rocket launchers, emphasizing the threat these posed to Israel. The operative was reportedly involved in rehabilitating terror infrastructure and orchestrating Hezbollah operations in southern Lebanon. The IDF stated that the military sites violated the agreements between Israel and Lebanon.

Local Lebanese media reported an Israeli airstrike on a car between the towns of Khirbet Selm and al-Jumayjimah in southern Lebanon, resulting in one death and one serious injury. This strike followed a drone attack earlier in the week that killed a Hezbollah commander involved in anti-Israel operations.

In Gaza, the IDF struck a group of suspects in the Shejaiya neighborhood, accusing them of planting bombs near Israeli forces. Palestinian media reported that two people were killed in this attack. The IDF has maintained a presence in buffer zones along Gaza’s border despite the ceasefire agreement, warning Palestinians to stay away.

Further military actions were reported on Saturday, with an Israeli drone targeting suspects who were attempting to retrieve a drone that had been launched from Israel. Two individuals were reportedly killed in this strike. Additionally, the IDF canceled a tree-planting event planned near the Gaza border due to fresh security concerns.

These airstrikes are part of Israel’s ongoing efforts to target terror operatives who pose a threat during the ceasefire periods, with the IDF pledging to continue such actions as needed. Despite the ceasefires, tensions remain high, and the military’s activities aim to neutralize threats from groups like Hezbollah and Hamas, which have violated truces in the past.
