Iran has expanded its military capabilities by receiving 1,000 advanced drones, the semi-official Tasnim news agency reported on Monday. The delivery comes as the nation anticipates heightened tensions with long-standing rivals Israel and the United States, particularly with the incoming administration of President Donald Trump.
The newly delivered drones, distributed across multiple locations in Iran, are reported to possess high stealth and anti-fortification capabilities. According to Tasnim, the drones feature a range exceeding 2,000 kilometers, significant destructive power, and a low radar cross-section, allowing them to evade detection while penetrating defense systems. Additionally, their autonomous flight capabilities enhance both reconnaissance depth and combat effectiveness against distant targets.
Earlier this month, Iran commenced extensive military drills, including war games led by the elite Revolutionary Guards. These exercises simulated the defense of critical nuclear sites, such as the Natanz facility, from mock attacks using missiles and drones.
