Missile attacks strike north, center, south, and Jerusalem as Israel retaliates with airstrikes on Tehran and key Iranian sites

Iran launched multiple missile salvos at Israel on Monday, striking north, central, southern regions, and Jerusalem, causing damage to homes and injuring at least 142 people over 24 hours, according to the Israeli Health Ministry. Among the injured, one woman in Rishon Lezion was lightly wounded when fragments from a missile hit her home. Other debris landed near the Knesset and in Jerusalem’s Old City, close to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

The attacks prompted air raid sirens across Israel, with residents rushing to shelters amid a growing Iran-Israel conflict. One affected resident, Lir Itzik, described inhaling dust and being trapped as the walls of her home partially collapsed onto her shelter door. She was treated at Shamir Medical Center.

In response, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched extensive airstrikes in Iran, targeting Tehran, Shiraz, and Tabriz. Key sites hit included an Iranian space research facility and the private jet of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, which the military said had been used for military procurement and coordination with proxy groups.

Since the conflict began on February 28, over 3,300 people have been admitted to hospitals, including civilians and soldiers. The IDF warned Israelis to follow home-front instructions to stay safe during missile attacks.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated Tehran is prepared to escalate the conflict as needed, highlighting the continued tensions in the Iran-Israel war.
