Israel Bombs Al-Ahli Hospital, Killing Three Journalists in Gaza

Death toll in Gaza surpasses 54,000 as humanitarian crisis deepens

Gaza City – In a deadly airstrike on Tuesday, Israeli forces bombed Al-Ahli Arab Hospital, commonly known as the Baptist Hospital, killing three journalists and critically wounding a fourth. The attack is part of a broader escalation that has claimed the lives of at least 23 people across Gaza today alone.

The hospital strike has drawn sharp criticism amid growing concerns over the safety of journalists and civilians in the besieged enclave. Gaza’s Health Ministry reports that Israel’s ongoing war has now killed at least 54,607 Palestinians and injured 125,341 others since October 2023.

In a parallel diplomatic development, the United States vetoed a United Nations Security Council resolution that called for an immediate, unconditional, and permanent ceasefire in Gaza—becoming the sole country to oppose the measure.

Meanwhile, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation announced it would remain closed for a second consecutive day. The closure follows the deaths and injuries of hundreds of Palestinians who had gathered at its aid distribution points, highlighting the extreme desperation and risks faced by civilians seeking basic necessities.

The ongoing conflict stems from the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attacks in Israel, which resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,139 people and the capture of over 200 hostages, according to Israeli sources.

As the humanitarian crisis in Gaza worsens, international pressure continues to mount for a ceasefire and the protection of civilians and aid workers.
