The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it shot down an unmanned aircraft launched from Iraq after it crossed into Israeli airspace. The interception occurred following drone alarms that were triggered in the northern Jordan Valley.
The military confirmed that the drone was intercepted after crossing into Israel from the east, indicating that the attack likely originated in Iraq. A video posted online by Iraq’s Iran-backed Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) claimed responsibility for launching the drone as a form of revenge for the recent killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.
