Israeli Civilian Shot in West Bank, IDF Searches for Attacker

An Israeli civilian was moderately wounded in a shooting attack Wednesday evening near the northern West Bank settlement of Ariel, sparking a manhunt by Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). The 18-year-old driver was shot in the arm while driving, and was taken to Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikva in stable condition.

The attack occurred near Ariel’s industrial park, where the victim was able to meet security forces and medics after the shooting. Initial reports indicate that the assailant used a laser to temporarily blind the victim before opening fire.

IDF troops blocked roads and conducted aerial surveillance in search of the shooter, with police assisting in the operation. District Commander Moshe Pinchi also visited the scene to oversee the search efforts.

This attack comes after Israeli forces demolished the home of a Palestinian terrorist involved in the shooting death of an Israeli man in Qalqilya in June 2024. The terrorist, Ali Khalil, along with his associates, was killed in subsequent IDF drone strikes.
