Israeli Forces Kill Two Attackers Crossing from Jordan Near Dead Sea

The Israeli military has neutralized two attackers who crossed from Jordan into Israel south of the Dead Sea after they opened fire on Israeli forces. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that troops were dispatched to the scene, where the two gunmen were killed.

The military is conducting further searches for an additional suspect who likely fled the area. This follows an earlier attack on Sept. 8, when a Jordanian gunman killed three Israeli civilians at the Allenby Bridge crossing before being shot dead by security forces.

The attack comes amid heightened tensions in the region, despite Israel and Jordan maintaining a peace treaty and close security cooperation since 1994.
