Israeli airstrikes on Thursday targeted areas in Syria, reportedly killing one soldier and injuring seven others, according to the Syrian defense ministry. The strikes occurred in the Kafr Sousa neighborhood of Damascus and at a military site near Homs, causing “material damage” without further details.
Syrian state media reported loud explosions in Damascus following the attack, which struck a residential building in Kafr Sousa. Israel typically refrains from commenting on specific incidents of military action in Syria but has been actively targeting Iranian-linked sites in the country for years. The frequency of these strikes has increased since the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7 last year.
