Israeli Strikes Kill 85 in Gaza as Starvation Death Toll Rises to 29

Gaza City – At least 85 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since early Thursday, according to medical sources cited by Al Jazeera, as Israeli bombardments continue across the enclave. The unrelenting airstrikes are contributing to a mounting humanitarian catastrophe, with hospitals overwhelmed and infrastructure in ruins.

The Gaza Health Ministry reports that 29 children and elderly individuals have died from starvation-related causes in recent days, highlighting a growing crisis of food insecurity. Aid agencies warn that thousands more are at immediate risk of famine amid a persistent blockade and restricted humanitarian access.

Meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes extended beyond Gaza, targeting towns in southern and eastern Lebanon. The Lebanese Army confirmed the death of at least one person in what has been described as one of the most intense flare-ups since a ceasefire with Hezbollah was reached in November.

Since the war on Gaza began, the Gaza Health Ministry has recorded 53,762 deaths and 122,197 injuries. However, the Government Media Office now estimates the actual death toll to exceed 61,700, citing thousands still trapped under collapsed buildings as presumed dead.
