Israeli Strikes Kill Over 60 in Gaza as Civilian Toll Mounts

Gaza, April 25, 2025 – A new wave of Israeli airstrikes on Gaza has killed more than 60 people since early Thursday, with entire families among the dead, according to local officials and medics.

The Palestinian Civil Defence reported that 12 members of a single family were killed in an air raid on Jabalia in northern Gaza. The attacks mark another escalation in a conflict that has already taken a staggering human toll.

The Gaza Health Ministry says 1,978 Palestinians have been killed and 5,207 injured since Israel resumed hostilities on March 18, 2025, breaking the most recent ceasefire with Hamas.

Since the war began 18 months ago, at least 51,355 Palestinians have been confirmed dead and 117,248 wounded, according to the ministry. The Gaza Government Media Office now estimates the total death toll has surpassed 61,700, factoring in thousands still buried under rubble and presumed dead.

In Israel, the conflict was triggered by the Hamas-led attacks of October 7, 2023, which killed 1,139 people and resulted in more than 200 hostages being taken.
