Worldwide protests and international condemnation follow deadly attacks, as Gaza’s humanitarian crisis deepens
Funerals have been held in Gaza for five Al Jazeera journalists killed in what international observers describe as a targeted Israeli attack. The killings sparked protests across the globe, with demonstrators gathering in cities including London, Berlin, Tunis, and Ramallah to denounce the strike.
The European Union, China, and Israel’s close ally Germany have condemned the attack, while the United Nations labelled it a “grave breach of international humanitarian law.”
In continued predawn air raids, Israel killed 10 more Palestinians, including a child, Mohammed Zakaria Khader, who died from malnutrition. The death toll from starvation in Gaza has now reached 222, among them 101 children.
Since the outbreak of the war, Israel’s offensive has killed at least 61,499 people and wounded 153,575 in Gaza. On the Israeli side, an estimated 1,139 people were killed during the October 7, 2023, attacks, with more than 200 taken captive.
