Moscow/Washington – The Kremlin has fired back at former U.S. President Donald Trump, describing him as “emotional” after he labeled Russian President Vladimir Putin “absolutely crazy” in the wake of Russia’s largest aerial assault on Ukraine to date.
Trump made the remarks on his Truth Social platform on Sunday, following a devastating Russian barrage of 367 drones and missiles that killed 13 people in Ukraine. “Something has happened to Putin. He has gone absolutely crazy,” Trump wrote. “Needlessly killing a lot of people.”
In response, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov downplayed the accusations, suggesting the comments stemmed from heightened emotions. “This is connected to an emotional overload of everyone involved,” he said.
Meanwhile, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz added to the rising international tensions by confirming that Ukraine’s allies have removed all range limits on the weapons they are providing. The statement came amid speculation that Germany may soon approve the delivery of Taurus long-range missiles to Kyiv.
