The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is worsening. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, Israel’s ongoing war has now resulted in at least 56,156 deaths and 132,239 injuries. The initial October 7 attack by Hamas on Israel left 1,139 Israelis dead and more than 200 taken captive, prompting a brutal military response that continues with devastating impact.
As the international community grapples with how to address the widening conflict, the cost in human lives continues to mount, and prospects for peace remain distant.
