Reports from South Korea’s intelligence agency on Thursday revealed that North Korea has deployed more troops to Russia, though the exact size of the contingent remains unclear. The additional forces have been stationed in Russia’s Kursk region, where Russian forces are currently engaged in combat with Ukrainian troops who have crossed into the western Russian border.
The National Intelligence Service (NIS) did not immediately respond to requests for further information. Previously, the NIS reported that over 11,000 North Korean troops had already been deployed to Russia as part of their involvement in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
While North Korea has not officially confirmed its military involvement in the war, both Ukraine and Western experts have suggested that Russia has also been utilizing North Korean weapons in its efforts.
