Russia has launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure in response to Kyiv’s deployment of US-supplied ATACMS missiles, according to the Russian Defense Ministry on Friday.
The ministry reported that air- and sea-based long-range precision missiles, alongside drones, targeted critical energy and fuel facilities integral to Ukraine’s military-industrial operations. These strikes mark a significant escalation in the conflict, aiming to disrupt Ukraine’s ability to sustain its military activities.
Earlier, Ukrainian officials confirmed that Russia had conducted a major missile assault during the Friday morning rush hour, specifically targeting energy infrastructure across the country.
This exchange of actions highlights the growing intensity of the conflict as advanced weaponry, such as ATACMS, shifts the dynamics of military engagements.
