Kingdom backs joint international efforts to rebuild Syria and urges global intervention to end the Gaza war and Israel’s aid blockade.
Saudi Arabia has reaffirmed its commitment to Syria’s reconstruction and called on the international community to urgently act to end the war in Gaza, during a weekly Cabinet session chaired by King Salman in Riyadh on Tuesday.
The Council of Ministers reiterated the Kingdom’s support for coordinated efforts aimed at rebuilding Syria, while safeguarding its security, stability, and sovereignty. The Cabinet welcomed a joint statement by the foreign ministers of several regional allies and international partners addressing the situation in Syria and promoting a path toward recovery and political reconciliation.
Additionally, the Saudi Cabinet reviewed the Kingdom’s ongoing humanitarian and relief aid to the Syrian people, emphasizing Riyadh’s active role in alleviating suffering in the war-torn country.
Strong Stance on Gaza
In a parallel message, the Cabinet expressed strong support for a joint statement issued by 28 nations calling for an immediate end to the war in Gaza. The statement condemned Israel’s ongoing blockade and obstruction of humanitarian aid delivery to civilians in the besieged Palestinian enclave.
Saudi Arabia renewed its call for the international community to adopt decisive and practical measures to halt what it described as Israel’s deliberate prolonging of the crisis — actions the Kingdom believes threaten regional and international peace.
“The obstruction of humanitarian aid and the continuation of military aggression undermine all serious peace efforts,” the Cabinet noted, stressing the urgent need for global intervention.
This dual-focus statement highlights Saudi Arabia’s evolving foreign policy as it seeks to position itself as a stabilizing force in the Middle East, advocating for conflict resolution and humanitarian priorities across multiple regional fronts.
