Tensions Escalate: Israeli Minister Calls for Removal of Iran’s Leader After Hospital Strike

Cross-border attacks intensify as Iran and Israel exchange missile strikes; U.S. weighs possible intervention.

Israel’s Defence Minister has declared that Iran’s supreme leader “can no longer be allowed to exist” following a missile attack that damaged parts of Soroka Hospital in southern Israel. According to AFP and local media, the statement came shortly after the facility was hit during an Iranian missile barrage.

Iranian state media reported that the intended target was a military installation adjacent to Soroka Hospital, not the hospital itself. Despite this, Israel’s emergency services confirmed that at least 89 people have been injured nationwide amid the wave of Iranian strikes.

In a retaliatory move, Israel’s military announced it had struck nuclear-related sites in Iran, including the inactive Arak heavy water reactor and the Natanz facility. These developments mark a dramatic escalation in hostilities between the two nations.

The situation unfolds at a sensitive geopolitical moment, as former U.S. President Donald Trump considers authorizing direct American involvement in support of Israel. Sources suggest Trump has already approved a preliminary strike plan on Iran but has not yet made a final decision. Meanwhile, Iran’s supreme leader has issued a stark warning, cautioning that U.S. intervention could result in “irreparable harm.”
