Turkey Strikes Kurdish Targets After Deadly Attack Near Ankara Kills Five

Turkey launched retaliatory air strikes on Kurdish militant positions in Iraq and Syria after a deadly attack near Ankara that left five people dead and 22 others injured. The Turkish government blamed the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) for the attack, which occurred at Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), 40 km outside the capital. Two attackers were killed in the incident.

The Turkish Defense Ministry confirmed the destruction of 32 PKK-linked targets, including military facilities and ammunition depots. Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces reported further Turkish strikes on civilian areas, resulting in 12 more casualties.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned the “vile terror attack” and vowed that no terrorist group would achieve its objectives. UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer also expressed solidarity with Turkey as a NATO ally.
