Ukraine Strikes Oil Terminal in Occupied Crimea

Ukraine’s military launched a strike on a large oil terminal in the Russian-occupied Crimean Peninsula, marking another key attack on energy facilities under Russian control. The Feodosia terminal, the largest oil processing facility in Crimea, was hit overnight by Ukrainian missile forces.

While Russian-installed officials in Crimea have yet to confirm the strike, they acknowledged a fire at the facility. Reports indicate that 300 people were evacuated due to the blaze, though no casualties have been reported. The state-run Tass news agency also declared a municipal-level emergency in Feodosia.

Footage on social media showed smoke rising over the terminal, and firefighting efforts are underway. The facility had previously been targeted in a Ukrainian drone strike in March.

Ukraine’s general staff said the terminal was supplying fuel to Russian occupation forces, justifying the attack as retaliation for Moscow’s continued strikes on Ukraine’s own energy infrastructure. Since Russia annexed Crimea in 2014, energy facilities have become key targets in the ongoing conflict.

Simultaneously, Russia’s defence ministry reported the downing of 12 Ukrainian drones over Crimea, out of a total of 21 launched. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s air force said it intercepted 32 drones and two missiles aimed at Kyiv. However, one Kinzhal missile evaded air defenses and struck near Starokostiantyniv airfield in Khmelnytskyi, a frequent target of Russian attacks.

In the southern city of Kherson, 17 people were injured, including two young children, in a separate Russian airstrike, further escalating tensions between the two nations.
