US Air Strikes in Sanaa Kill Four, Wound Over 20 Amid Ongoing Houthi Conflict

US air strikes in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, have killed at least four people and wounded more than 20 others, including four women and children, according to Houthi authorities. The strikes targeted a residential home on Sunday, causing significant damage.

In addition, the US launched three more air strikes in the Al Jabal al Aswad area, located in the Bani Matar district, west of Sanaa, though no immediate casualty details have been released. Earlier strikes in the Houthi-controlled Saada province killed two people and injured nine others, with footage showing the collapse of a two-story building.

These air strikes are part of an ongoing campaign by the United States against the Iran-aligned Houthi group, which has escalated since late 2023. The Houthis have been involved in attacks against shipping in the Red Sea and have expressed support for Palestinians during the Israel-Gaza conflict. The US strikes resumed after the Houthis threatened to target Israeli-linked vessels in retaliation for Israel’s actions related to Gaza.

Since the US resumed its air campaign, over 200 strikes have been carried out, resulting in numerous casualties, including civilians, military targets, and Houthi positions. The attacks have intensified as the Houthis resumed targeting US warships and merchant vessels.
