Israeli Airstrike in Central Gaza Reportedly Kills Women and Child Amid Ongoing Conflict

At least three people, including a child, were reported killed after an Israeli airstrike in central Gaza overnight, according to Palestinian media outlets.

The strike reportedly hit a camp for displaced civilians in Al-Zawaida, an area located along the Hamas-controlled side of the Gaza ceasefire line. Local reports said the attack left two women and a 12-year-old girl dead, while around 10 others were injured.

The victims were identified as Salsabeel Farraj, 12; Nour al-Shalalfeh, 30; and Amal Shemali, 46, who worked as a correspondent for Radio Qatar, according to Palestinian sources. Their bodies were taken to Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat, in central Gaza.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had not issued an immediate comment on the overnight strike. However, the Israeli military has previously said that such operations are conducted in response to alleged ceasefire violations by Hamas.

Additional Casualties Reported in Gaza

In a separate incident, a young girl identified as Julia al-Qudra reportedly died overnight at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis. She had been seriously wounded during an Israeli strike on Saturday, which also killed her father in the southern Gaza city.

Following that strike, the IDF stated it targeted a Hamas operative who was allegedly planning an imminent sniper attack against Israeli troops in the southern Gaza Strip.

Strikes Continue Across Gaza

Palestinian media also reported that three men were killed and several others wounded in another Israeli airstrike in Gaza City earlier on Sunday.

The bodies were reportedly taken to Shifa Hospital, one of the largest medical facilities in the Gaza Strip.

According to the Israeli military, that strike targeted two Hamas operatives who were also said to be preparing a sniper attack against Israeli forces in northern Gaza.

Ongoing Tensions

The latest incidents highlight the continued volatility in the Gaza Strip, where airstrikes and military operations continue despite fragile ceasefire arrangements.

As the Israel–Hamas conflict continues, civilians in Gaza remain at risk, with displaced communities and urban areas frequently caught in the crossfire.
