Civilian attack in Nikopol leaves multiple injured during morning rush hour

Kyiv, Ukraine – A Russian drone strike hit a city bus in Ukraine’s Dnipro region, killing three people and injuring at least 12 others, Ukrainian officials said on Tuesday.

The attack took place in the city of Nikopol during morning rush hour, when commuters were traveling to work. Authorities described the strike as a direct hit on civilian public transport, raising concerns over continued attacks on non-military targets.

“This is a devastating blow to public transport,” said Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko, noting the timing of the strike when the bus was carrying passengers to their daily routines.

Emergency services responded quickly, transporting the injured to nearby hospitals. The incident adds to a growing number of drone attacks targeting urban areas, highlighting the ongoing risks faced by civilians in eastern Ukraine.

The Dnipro region has been repeatedly targeted in recent months as fighting continues across the frontline, with drone warfare playing an increasingly significant role in the conflict.
